So I haven't written here since 2015, that's 3 years. At the time of THIS journal I am: - Technical Director of the Palace Theatre (London, Ontario, Canada) - Head Technician at the McManus Stage of the Grand Theatre (London) - Technical Director of Summerfolk (Music Festival in Owen Sound, which happens every August) - Still freelancing as a Technician (Lighting, Sound, Rigging, Set, Projections, etc) & Occasional Designer (Typically Lighting but also Sound, etc) I have been EXTREMELY busy (honestly haven't had a single day off since over 3 months ago; however some short days). Hi everyone, Wow a second Journal update in the SAME YEAR! Been a while since I've done that! So yet again I am in the throws of my exposure of summer festivals. Between getting ready for Goderich Celtic Roots and Summerfolk I just finished a weekend doing lights and sound for the Ripley Old Boys and Girls Reunion. A long-weekend full of drunken crazyness (Bruce County Style), music, and homecoming reunion. This event only happens every 10 years, and is a HUGE undertaking for a small rural town (and I do mean small). So I haven't posted a journal entry since 2011... Then again there hasn't been too much to report. Most recently I was the tech for a venue (McManus Studio, at the Grand Theatre London) for the London (Ontario) Fringe Festival, where I had 7 shows for 6 performances each in two weeks. I had a blast. Yesterday I was doing a little work at the Livery Theatre in Goderich, and ended up quite distracted by the arrival of the Snowbirds and CF-18 demonstration aircraft for todays show.
